What Are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are hormones that are structurally identical to the hormones that we produce in our own bodies.  Because they are identical, these hormones exactly mimic what your body produces on its own (or used to produce on its own), so there are much fewer, if any negative side effects. 

Bioidentical hormones are prepared in a laboratory from natural sources, usually soy or wild yam.  Because our bodies cannot change soy and/or wild yam into hormones directly, these steps must be performed in the lab in order to synthesize hormones that are structurally identical to those found in our bodies.  Once these hormones are produced, we can use them to replace the missing hormones in our bodies in the exact amounts that we naturally produce them, and in the correct rhythms and patterns that our bodies naturally produce them.

Bioidentical Hormones vs. Synthetic Hormone Replacement Therapy
Patients who are currently prescribed synthetic hormones can slowly be weaned off these hormones and placed on safer and more effective alternative therapies. Because many women and men are blood tested prior to traditional hormone therapy, they are often overdosed and many of their symptoms can be associated with excessive hormones. About Our Natural Hormone Program
Our natural hormone therapy program is designed to help you understand your body's hormone chemistry and correct hormone imbalances using a natural approach.

As a new patient you will start with a simple, non-invasive saliva hormone test that can be completed in the comfort of your home. BioHRT will mail your testing supplies along with the necessary lab forms and return mailer to submit your sample to the lab. You may also stop by the office in Scottsdale and pick up your testing supplies if you wish.

Your hormone test results are generally received within 5-7 business days. Once your results are in we will contact you to schedule your initial visit with one of our physicians. During this hour and a half long visit you will undergo a physical examination, review past medical history and address your symptoms and any other medical concerns. Upon completion of your consultation, your BioHRT physician will design a treatment program specific to you that may include natural bioidentical hormones, nutritional supplements and other services offered at our Wellness Center.

To ensure optimal results in balancing and maintaining optimal hormone levels your treatment program will be closely monitored by our medical staff and physicians at all times.

Out-of-state Patients

While we encourage all of our patients to visit our Wellness Center, we do understand that it is not always possible for everyone to travel. For these patients we have telephone consultations with a licensed practitioner to listen to patient concerns, evaluate hormone test results and to offer answers to questions and concerns about hormones and other related health concerns.
